Is it ever? No, I just want to see you. See how you're doing. Make sure you're warm.

I have something for you.

Warm enough, given the circumstances. I was born in the North--a place cold and frigid like this, but we were far more better equipped to handle the temperature than here. The wolves never complained, of course.

What is it?

It's a surprise. Tell me, do you have winter holidays back home?

[noburden]

Depending on the region. Why? Is it a special surprise?

[Someone might be mildly impatient when it comes to surprises.]

[wyldfire]

I like to think it's special. [The grin was audible.]

Where I'm from we have a holiday called Christmas. It was originally a religious holiday, but it's since become more of a secular thing to celebrate family, friends, and loved ones. One of the traditions is gift-giving. So I have a gift for you.

[noburden]

You know you needn't have gone through the trouble, Jordana...

[Mild panic because she has no gift to give in return.]

It wasn't any trouble. You're my friend, and it's Christmas time. So, too bad; you're stuck with it.

Stuck is going to be too strong of a word, I'm sure. Can I bring you anything as I'm headed your way, then?

[wyldfire]

Is it too cheesy to say a hug? It's been a bad month... beyond it being a bad month. A bone to chew on would be nice, but I'm pretty sure we're all out of those. So, just the hug.

[noburden]

[Any bones she has are in use, unfortunately.]

I have a hug or two to spare.

I will happily take them. I'll see you when you get here.

[And there will be a woof on the back porch waiting.]

[Jill makes her way over, hooded, bundled up in her cloak. Jordana is hard to miss, and Jill doubts she'd likewise mistake Jill for anyone else.]

[Scent alone was more than enough. The wolf lifted her head and let her tongue loll out of her mouth, ears forward, and thumped her tail.

Shifting to make room for Jill to sit, Jordana intended on laying across her lap to give warmth once Jill settled. On the rail was a small leather pouch.]

[Jill doesn't immediately notice the pouch, preoccupied with how cute that thumpy tail is. Sitting, she reflexively reaching out to pet between pointed ears.]

You're not cold at all with that coat, are you?

[... Founder, it's so hard not to use the tone she uses with Torgal with both Jordana and Khori. She'll work on that.]

[Welcome to Jill's new wolf fur blanket. Jordana lifted her muzzle, tongue licking Jill's cheek in an affectionate greeting.]

((I wouldn't exactly say I'm warm, but my undercoat is thick and the guard hairs keep water from penetrating to my skin.

Definitely warmer than having layers of clothes on.))

[She breathes out a laugh, scratching under the wolf's neck. Old habit.]

I'm all too familiar. That undercoat would become my worst enemy after Torgal rolled on a carcass.

[Wolves will be wolves, but living at the Hideaway, he couldn't stink of death.]

[All pets and scritches were good ones. Any Garou that claimed otherwise was lying.]

((Wolf-born Garou do that sometimes. You don't have to worry about me doing so. The shedding though...))

Used to that, too.

[Jill looks down at her hands. Already furry.]

[The wolf chuffed in amusement, pressing her head against Jill's chest.]

((One would think being able to shift forms, I wouldn't have to go through losing my coat. Yet I do.))

Perhaps you should invest in a good brush.

[And Jordana did want a hug, so she gets one, arms going around a fluffy neck.]

[Her tail thumped. Best hug ever.]

((I've yet to find a brush that doesn't break in my coat. A horse curry comb isn't as effective as you'd think.))

Something to look into, then. You do make me wonder if Torgal is unhappy with my brushing, but he's not said anything...

[Because Torgal can't talk. She's funny.]

((Any brushing is better than none. Garou coats are a bit thicker than normal wolves unless they are wolfborn.))

[Which Jordana was certainly not. She still regenerated in this form whereas wolfborn do not. That probably accounted for it.]
